Overall, I managed to get five cookbooks scanned and write the metadata for them. It was interesting to learn that in Photoshop there's a way to save multiple images at once after they've been edited. By using 'Automate' then 'Batch' you can convert and save multiple images as JPGs.
Scanning each page, or set of pages, from a cookbook takes 2-3 minutes per scan so in that time I started looking at the recipes from the books. There are some really interesting and fun recipes in some of the books, like Daisy Eggs, I don't know what they are but the name sounds fun!
Now that these recipe books have been digitized and are in the Digital Collections database anytime someone wants to try something new they can go through whole books at a time and decide which recipes are right for them.
Other than the Natchez recipe book I scanned on my first day in the Digi Lab I completed "How we cook in Corinth", "Recipes: Our Best to You", "Treasured Recipes", and "Cornerstone Cookery".
